Studio visit with Angela Pitcher Dowdell

Angela specialises in pattern cutting and dressmaking. She is also a fabulous designer!

Angela ran her own Bridalwear business for over 20 years in Cardiff and I first met her back in the early to mid nineties (that long ago) when I was running my digital embroidery business. I embroidered many a dress for Angela and we recently met up again at the Hay festival and planned a meeting to discuss some development of ideas for sewing courses. That is how the Tweed coat course came about!

Since then, Angela has come up with some other ideas she would like to develop with us which we have thrashed out and now ready for you to enjoy!

Angela lives in Caerphilly and has an amazing view of the Castle from her home. It wasn't a particularly nice day when I visited but we managed a walk over to the local gallery, have a coffee and teacake and on the way back we had a peep at the castle through the drizzle.

Here's a little video I made with Angela when I visited her. It will give you a little more insight into her professionalism and working methods.
